The Advertising Production Club of New York (APC-NYC) held its annual APPY Award Ceremony Tuesday, November 10, 2015. The APPY Awards (Advertising Production Person of the Year) are typically given to industry professionals that have demonstrated a consistency that sets an example for everyone in the Production and Creative Community. These individuals are honored for their contributions to furthering our industry and for their commitment to education and support of our scholarship foundation.

Despite a steady drizzle all day in NY, close to 250 people made their way to Times Square to the stunning Microsoft Technology Center to celebrate. Sponsors supporting this incredible industry event were on hand to display samples and discuss all the latest trends and technology driving the fast and ever changing world of Production and Creative Services. Pantone, the Title Sponsor was there in its colorful glory along with Adobe, Hightail, Candid Worldwide, APX, Hatteras, Sandy Alexander, LDI, Structural Graphics, Influence Graphics, eg+ (Omnicom), Epic Litho, Peeq Imaging and Scodix. The contributions from the sponsors as well as attendance fees all contribute to the APC Scholarship Fund and underwrite the cost for this incredible evening.

A cocktail hour precedes the award ceremony which allowed all the attendees an opportunity to network, meet old friends, and make new friends. It also allows for quality time for creative, design and production professionals throughout the industry to share ideas and exchange meaningful dialogue about this exciting industry and the event to follow.

Customarily and traditionally, there are 3 Awards given. David Luke, the First VP of the APC-NYC was the MC and in typical fashion, added just the right amount of humor and kept things moving at a nice steady pace. The room was lit with beautiful displays showcasing all the sponsor logos and added a nice dramatic flair to the ambience of the room. (Lighting was donated by Party Harty Entertainment.)

Honored for their industry achievements and professional commitments, these 3 extraordinary people were what the evening was all about. Their colleagues, friends, industry friends and families were in the audience to show support, offer admiration and thanks for all they do and all the contributions they make to the industry and the people within the Production and Creative Community.

Vendor/Service Award was presented to Monte Wilson, the Vice President, Head of Global Strategy and Business Development at Adobe Systems.

Agency/Corporate Award was presented to Tish Sherwood, Production Director at A&E Networks.

Rising Star Award was given to Jennifer Harrigan, Production Services Administrator at OUTFRONT Media.

Paul Nicholson, the President of the APC-NYC was also part of the ceremony and introduced a “new tradition” with “The APPY Presidents Awards.” These awards were presented to two APC Board members for their commitment to the club. Jim Sewell, the Membership Chairman and Jimmy Levin, the Chairman of the Education Committee were the proud recipients of the 1st Annual Presidents Awards.
